The only constant in the Great Spam War is change. DNSBLThe Domain Name System, although being used by spammers already to register spamsite names, has turned about and provided anti-spammers with on of their most powerful tools of network control. Designed as a fast internet-wide system of information sharing the DNS has the ability for antispammers to publish any information they gather about spammers and teh resources they use. The lists published by Anti-Spammers get sent quickly around the world to other anti-spammers and network controllers who need it. They use this information to cut the flow of spam into whole areas of the internet abruptly to nothing. So although spammers send tens of millions of messages each hour, they only get minutes before they are located and cut off from the public. RBLA Reversed Black List is a reverse-DNS list of Internet machine addresses. These lists machine locations on the internet are often used to link machines with the activities they are performing. RHSBLA RHSBL is a list of domain names which are to be found elsewhere in the DNS system. This is often used to link domains with certain activities. |
